Chatterpix App

ChatterPix is a simple app that lets you take a picture of a person (or any object) and make it talk! The possibilities for the classroom are endless and let me tell you, students LOVE it! We're starting our biography genre right now, so I thought it would be the perfect chance to integrate this app into our unit. Create ChatterPix with friends and family as silly greetings, playful messages, creative cards, or even fancy book reports. And best of all, it’s FREE! NOTE: For adults, check out our “ChatterPix” app for more fun and sharing via email and social media. CATEGORY: Creative Expression TOOLS: 22 stickers, 10 frames and 11 photo. ChatterPix is a straightforward App but has so many opportunities for use in lessons. My students really enjoy using it. It's available for free on the App store. The App let's you select a picture of a character, mark where the mouth is and then when you talk, the mouth moves.

So…this isn’t the most sophisticated or educational app out there but it is some serious fun. I have been using this for a couple of weeks and it just has a way of lifting your spirits.

Chatterpix Application

In a nutshell, Chatterpix is an app that allows you to transform a picture into a talking, singing hilarity. The user simply imports or takes a picture in the app, draws a line on the screen (usually the photo subject’s mouth), records voice, bedazzles with “stickers” or “frames” and voila the picture comes alive.

My family has had a ball with this app. In an education setting I can see this as an answer for children who do not have photography rights. They could take a picture of anything (other than themselves) and draw a “mouth” on, add some voice and he/she can still participate. It really does allow quite a bit of creativity and would definitely be a “carrot” to dangle for kids to do their work so they can use it. Perhaps after students read a book, they take a picture of the cover and then have the book “talk” about its subject. There are really a ton of fun ways to incorporate this app into the daily grind and spread a little laughter.
